Note: Saturn began its Transit in Leo on, July 16, 2005 where it will remain until, September 2, 2007 when it begins its Transit in the Sign of Virgo. It’s effects are felt by the Signs of Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
IS THERE A CURSE ON ME?
If I had a nickel for each time that I have been asked that question during a Reading I would be as rich as Bill Gates.
I believe all Readers should have a knowledge of Astrology despite the fact that they may pick up that a client is going through a particularly rough period in life. Having the knowledge of Astrology helps the client to understand that it is not just they who are having a series of misfortunes. Many people feel that when their lives aren’t working that it’s because they are atoning or being punished from some misdeed.
It is exactly those periods in life when one feels as if they have been cursed. Unfortunately this idea has become more widespread since the wiccan community emerged. People confuse the idea of a Witch and a wiccan. They are not one in the same.
Wicca is a form of belief and practice. Real Witchcraft is just that...Witchcraft. It has nothing to do with a belief, practice or religion. It is a bloodline occurrence.
Prior to, many clients felt that because they did even the most smallest thing such as stealing a bottle of nail polish from Woolworths as a child, that they are being punished. They are not being punished. Tested is the correct word and past misdeeds have nothing to do with being Tested. It is the old devil Saturn the taskmaster of the Planets doing what it was meant to do in the Natal Charts of every single human being.
Granted, some people ease through this without batting an eyelash. Unfair? Depends on how one views it but there is a reason. They are not a saint, angel or a miraculous human being. They have late degrees in their Charts. Ah...the lucky dogs!
Any of us could have chosen that precise moment of re-entry onto the planet with later degrees but we and we alone decided that we needed to experience the tests of Saturn.
THE SATURN RETURN
This occurs between the end of the 20s up to age 31 sometimes a little older. It depends on the degrees of a person’s Natal Saturn. For example, let’s suppose your Natal Saturn is at 00 degrees. As soon as Saturn makes its Return, you are going to feel its impact. On the other side of the coin, if your Natal Saturn is 27 even 25 degrees, you will feel its impact but it will be over quickly.
Saturn is the natural Ruler of Capricorn but this does not mean that everyone including Capricorns, will have Saturn placed there. On the contrary, you may be a Capricorn with Saturn in Leo or any of the 12 Signs. It is all in the Natal.
It takes 30 years for Saturn to Return to the Sign it occupied when you were born thus, Saturn Return. You will feel its effects the most in the House that it is located.
For instance let us suppose it is positioned in the 7th House at birth. This is the House that Rules, marriage, partnerships, anything on a 50-50 basis. This is the area (7th House) where you will feel the biggest impact. It is opposite the 1st House and gives rise to a feeling of you being pulled in opposite directions. Some will feel the effects of testing going on in 7th House matters. At the same time let’s suppose you are married or have a partnership business or otherwise, those people will also be affected.
When Saturn Transits the 7th House there is a good chance that a marriage will end and in the least, the marriage will be tested.
On the same token, suppose Saturn transits your 2nd House. This is the House that Rules, finances and values. Expect to curtail your spending during this Transit along with more responsibility being put on your shoulders. It is opposite the 8th House (Death, sex, regeneration, the past) and will test that area as well.
There are those poor souls who have Saturn Rising at birth and or Saturn on their Ascendant/First House. These people are responsible individuals and the types we refer to as being 5 going on 35. Life is full of tests and responsibility for them and they seem to deal quite well with their Saturn Return. They’ve grown accustomed to the feel of Saturn already.
Remember, Saturn’s purpose is not to destroy but to help us grow. It presents us with tests that we feel we sure could do without. It delays, disappoints, cancels (many times at the last minute) puts extra responsibility on us, sometimes it is not even our own responsibility in the first place. This can come via helping an older relative, if in the 4th House, a parent thus, being responsible for them. Saturn can force you to put your projects on the back burner which are sometimes completely forgotten until many years later.
When Saturn touches Natal Venus it affects the emotions and many times ends a romance. It also denies romance in your life. These are the periods in life when you wonder if there’s a foot growing out of the top of your head because you feel as if you’re invisible in the romantic area of your life. In the work area, you are fully visible as extra work is dumped on you.
WHY DOES SATURN IN LEO AFFECT TAURUS, SCORPIO, AND AQUARIUS?
Leo and Taurus are a Square and Squares present difficulty, problems to be solved in the Houses in the Natal that they affect. They present difficulties and make things feel as if they are going to drag on forever. It can push one into achieving great things in life on the upside.
Leo and Taurus are also a forming Square Aspect Leo and Aquarius are Opposites. They are 180 degrees apart.
Oppositions are like a mirror. They present those feelings of being pulled in two different directions depending on where the Signs and Saturn are located in a particular Natal Chart.
Leo’s are feeling its impact as Saturn Transits through their Natal Sun. Some may have issues with Dad/Dad figure and authority figures along with older males. The usual bright and cheery royal Leonian can feel as if they want to sit in a corner and just lick those royal paws. (Leo’s Symbol is the Lion, its Ruling Planet is the Sun). Both Sun and Moon are considered as planets in Astrology.
These are the negative Aspects and or the tests of Saturn. If Saturn is making a Trine in your Chart this is good. Conjuncts make for things to happen swiftly. So everything about Saturn isn’t all bad.
Once we have experienced our Saturn Return we are not the same. Whether we have grown or become indifferent, some go to the extent of feeling so sorry for themselves after this Transit and never get over it until the next Saturn Return when they are approximately 58 to 61 years old. Those of us who have endured their Saturn Return are much stronger than before.
THE BASIC’S OF LEO AND IT’S RULER, THE SUN:
The Sun has to do with the power urge and life style. Its purpose is self-expression and portrays the real person, one stripped from habits and mannerisms. Leo’s have the royal look, one of dignity and great manes of hair, which brings a reminder of the Lion itself, and the nose has that certain look of the lion, sort of between the eyes, hard to describe, in short the nose of a lion.
Leo Rules the heart, exterior upper back, forearms, and wrists. Interior spine, heart. Its function is Individualization.
The Natural House of Leo is the Fifth House which is a Succeedent House, ruled by the Sun. It deals with self expression, creativity, writing, theater, entertainment, love
affairs; any effort which distinguishes from others. It rules children, speculation and gambling. Dramatic people, very demonstrative and affectionate.
Leo on the Cusp stamps any house of a Chart as the one through which your basic nature of character will flow. Like a noisy cluster of bees swarming around a particularly succulent flower, so the house ruled by Leo will attract experiences of an especially meaningful and developmental nature. This is because Leo marks a special area in a Chart of personal contribution, where one's life becomes a direct tributary into the great river of universal experience and consciousness of self. It may also mark a danger area of vanity, overconfidence.
We tend to live most importantly through our Leo controlled House and draw upon the greatest storehouse of concentration of energy, so Leo marks a point of freedom of choice, augmenting our power of self-direction.
For example, if the sixth house is Leo Ruled, you may best serve your own interest by some useful service to others. You gain mastery over your own life by placing it in important ways at the disposal of others. Matter of health play a cardinal role in the formation of the character, either thru the sublimation of your ego and diminution of Selfish ambitions thru the physical discipline imposed by illness, with the result that the mind and spirit soar
to heights otherwise unattainable, or one may devote a life to forms of therapeutics. Most importantly, Leo marks the area where you stand the greatest chance of achieving a state of wholeness of completeness in your life.
This is only a surface interpretation of the Saturn Return and is meant to help those who are experiencing it at this time and to hopefully make them understand there is no curse upon them! They are not being punished. That feeling of everything going wrong will soon disappear and life will feel and be good again.
